Ascend the Peak. Conquer the Phantoms.

YEPCOM is an action-platformer developed as an academic project at Istanbul Kent University. The game follows a hero's perilous vertical journey to the summit to confront a formidable final boss. Along the way, players must battle hordes of spectral enemies and unlock special abilities to reach previously inaccessible heights.

Designer's Note

As an academic project, YEPCOM was a deep dive into creating a satisfying core gameplay loop and implementing ability-based progression. My primary design goals for this project were:

• Vertical Level Design: Crafting a continuous upward climb where platforming challenges naturally evolve as the player ascends.
• Skill Synergy: Ensuring that the special powers acquired not only aid in platforming and traversal but also provide new tactical advantages against the varied ghost enemies.
• Pacing & Boss Build-up: Balancing the difficulty curve so that the encounters feel rewarding and adequately prepare the player for the ultimate boss fight at the top.
